What is a hair system consultation and who is it for?
A hair system consultation is a detailed appointment where we assess your hair loss, discuss your lifestyle and preferences, and show you the different base types and hair systems so you can make an informed decision. It is for men who are considering a hair replacement system for the first time.
Most of the men we see have male pattern baldness: they have lost hair on the top of the head but still have their own hair on the back and sides, and they want a full head of hair again. They can be any age, but tend to be in the 30 to 60 age range. Some want hair again for aesthetic reasons, to look and feel younger; others feel their hair loss is holding them back and want to regain their confidence.
A hair system is not a hair transplant and does not treat hair loss. Our systems are non-invasive, drug free and non-medical. If you are not a suitable candidate for hair replacement, we will tell you.
What happens at a hair system consultation, step by step?
The consultation is the first appointment in your journey with us. The full process looks like this:
- Get in touch. Book online, by email, through the contact form or by phone on 020 7405 7797.
- Consultation in salon or online. A 30-minute session with one of our hair system experts. We prefer to meet you in our salon but can also carry out online consultations.
- Assessment and options. We assess your hair loss, discuss your lifestyle and preferences, and show you different base types and hair systems.
- New hair system supply and fitting. Once we have identified the right system for you, our team fits it securely, then cuts and styles it to blend with your own hair.
- Ongoing care. Hair system haircuts every 6-8 weeks, a hair system refit and style every 12 weeks, and a new hair system supply and fitting every 3-6 months.
How much does a hair system consultation cost?
A hair system consultation costs £25. We charge for it because it is a detailed appointment where we explore the best options for you, and we give you the £25 back as a credit if you decide to go ahead with a New Hair System. We don’t lock clients into contracts.
Prices for new hair systems, fitting, refits, cuts and colouring are listed on our hair replacement price list, and a custom system is quoted after your consultation.
What is included in the consultation, and what is not?
The consultation covers advice and options; the fitting of a system is a separate appointment.
- Included: an assessment of your hair loss, a conversation about your lifestyle and preferences, a look at the different base types (polyskin, lace and combination) and hair systems, and honest advice on whether a hair system is right for you.
- Included: a detailed quote if you want a longer or custom system.
- Not included: the hair system itself and its fitting, which are priced separately.
- Not included: medical treatment of hair loss. Our systems are non-invasive, drug free and non-medical.

Can I have a consultation online?
Yes. We prefer to meet you in our salon but can also carry out online consultations, which suits men who live further from London. Many of our clients come from London and the Home Counties and from the wider UK, and we also have international clients from France, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Lithuania, Poland, the UAE, India, Mexico and the US.

Do I need a consultation before getting a hair system?
Yes, if you have not had a hair system before. Consultations are necessary for first-time clients so we can find the right system for you.
Will a hair system make my own hair grow back?
No. A hair system is not a hair transplant or a medical treatment. It is a non-invasive, drug-free and non-medical way to have a full head of hair again.
Can I have long hair with a hair system?
Standard systems are about 6 inches long, so you can achieve up to a good mid-length haircut. For longer styles you can order a custom system of up to around 12 inches, which takes longer to arrive and costs significantly more. We discuss this at your consultation and provide a detailed quote.
Do you do custom hair systems?
Yes. Custom systems can be made to order with customised bases, base materials, thickness, density, knotting and curl. They require a consultation so we can discuss your requirements and provide a quote, and they take 3 months to produce.
Are your hair systems real hair?
Yes. Our systems use high-grade human hair sourced from India, woven onto a polyskin or lace base.
Do you take clients from other salons?
Yes. We are usually able to fit most systems made of natural hair, including PU membrane, tape and lace systems. We also offer a Refit & Style of existing systems, which includes removal of the system, cleaning, conditioning, refit, and a cut and style of your natural hair. Read why men switch to us.
What if I don’t like my new hair?
We carry out a thorough consultation beforehand to try to avoid any issues. If you do not like your new hair or hairstyle, we can take it off and restyle it until you like the way it looks.
