Understanding DHT

Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is a more potent form of testosterone. It’s a powerful chemical within the body. And it has unique properties. When testosterone converts to DHT it weakens hair follicles and causes hair to thin and fall.

Progesterone can cause hair loss when the hair follicles are exposed to higher than normal levels of the hormone, causing a shut-down. Or a deficiency in progesterone can trigger the stress hormone cortisol stimulating hair fall.
